An XO (Executive Officer) is a new Alliance rank, above Officer and below Commander. An XO can demote Officers and perform all functions that a Commander can. An XO cannot Disband an Alliance or appoint a new Commander. If the Commander becomes inactivate for a long period of time, the XO will become the new Commander. An Alliance can only have one XO at a time.
