Hero levels determine how powerful your Heroes are. With each level up, the Hero's stats and max skill level increase.
You can level up Heroes by simply using them in missions or by using XP tokens. To use XP tokens, select "Heroes" on the bottom right corner of the main screen, select the Hero you wish to level up, then tap on the "+" button on the right of the Hero's XP bar.
