The VIP system provides players with benefits that cannot be obtained in any other way. To view what these benefits are, press the "+" sign on the right of your gold then tap on See Benefits at the bottom right corner. 

VIP points are earned with most in-app purchases. If you are unsure if a purchase will earn you VIP points, look for a note on the purchase that says how many VIP Points it offers. If there is no such note, then you will not earn VIP points for that purchase.
